NRB: Office 365 Email Setup
Step 1: Logging into your email and setting up MFA (multi-factor authentication)

Step 1: Setting up MFA
- Find a computer and go to https://portal.office.com
- Login with the email and password provided to you
- Follow instructions to create a new password for you account
- You be prompted with a page asking you to setup security for your account. Choose "Next"
- Now you must download the "Microsoft Authenticator App" for you phone.
- On your phone go to the relevant relevant store (Google or Apple) and search for "Microsoft Authenticator App"
- NOTE: There is a 3rd party app that both Google and Microsoft have been allowing to appear before the correct Microsoft app. Make sure you are downloading the correct one (sometimes the 2nd in the list)
- Click "Next" on the computer screen twice
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator App. Choose to add an account, then select "Work or school" and choose to add the account using a QR Code.
- Scan the code on the computer screen
- Click "Next" on the computer
- Go to the Microsoft Authenticator App on your phone and enter the 2 digit code on the computer screen into the app. Then hit "Yes"
- The computer should indicate that the authentication was successful
- In the next section enter your phone number and leave the selection on "Receive a code".
- Hit next and enter the code sent to your texts. Hit "Next" again to complete the process.
Step 2: Setup your Email
NOTE: Connected Alternative recommends using the Microsoft Outlook application for Android and iPhone to get the best experience.
- Go to the relevant store on your phone (Google or Apple) and download the "Microsoft Outlook" app.
- If it's your first time using Outlook for iOS, enter your full email address, then tap "Add Account". If not, open the Menu, tap "Settings:, then tap "Add Account" and "Add Email Account".
- Enter your email account password and tap Sign In.
- Follow the prompts to authenticate your account using MFA.
- Accept any prompts for permission you may receive.
- Swipe through the features and you're now ready to use Outlook.
